In 2018, I encounter a collection of old magazines from the 1930s. As I browse, wonder grows over the images and advertisements. The parallels to contemporary social themes are striking. I am also drawn to the beauty of bygone paper. After several years, I realize that I collage out of a love for these ‘time’ documents that harbor our becoming humanity.

 

The title ©∞||▼G¨$ refers to my quest with collage as a medium. Each symbol represents a specific issue, graphic approach, or form of love for the uniqueness of collaging. My analogue collages flow from an organic encounter with images, shapes and textures that touch me. I construct them as stories where echoes of a past balance in the here and now.
